The IELCC conducts rigorous, interdisciplinary research focused on advancing the well-being of working people and our communities in California’s Inland Empire. Guided by partnerships with unions, community organizations, and academic collaborators, IELCC’s research informs policy, strengthens worker and community power, and supports equitable regional development.
 

Policy Briefs

Recognizing the fast-paced nature of today’s environment, the IELCC releases policy briefs to share research and evidence-based policy advice with the general public. Guided by labor and community partners, policy briefs draw attention to pressing issues and recommended policy strategies for the Inland Empire and beyond.

State of Workers

An annual report that provides an in-depth analysis of labor market trends, wage patterns, and economic challenges facing workers in California’s Inland Empire region.

State of the Unions

Led by researchers at the UCLA Institute for Research on Labor and Employment and the UC Berkeley Labor Center, this annual report includes data on union density, member demographics, and labor organizing activity in California and the nation.

Sustainable Logistics

Identifying the region as one of the United States’ largest logistics hubs, the IELCC investigates opportunities and implications for a just transition in the Inland Empire.

Economic Development

The IELCC provides research and technical assistance for regional economic development efforts, including the California Jobs First Initiative.
